2006 Awards

The Prince Henry Award: This is the most prestigious award presented to the squadron with the largest ratio of members having achieved the grades of Seamanship, Piloting, and Advanced Piloting who have entered the world of celestial navigation or have completed and passed Junior Navigation in the previous calendar year.

Life Membership Award A very special award of distinction was earned by a member of our squadron. The award is for LIFE MEMBERSHIP and it is presented by order of USPS’s Chief Commander to a member who has earned 25 Merit Marks which represents 25 years of meritorious service to our squadron given unselfishly in the interests of our organization. This also is presented with a special gold wreathed 25-year pin to be worn and show off this distinction. CONGRATULATIONS to P/C Ed Shimansky, SN.

Certificate of Educational Proficiency In recognition of successful completion of the grade of Advanced Piloting and three elective courses: Doris Campbell

The Harvey A Collins, JN Memorial Award: This is an annual Memorial Award that recognizes the squadron’s in District 4 with the highest percentage of “new members” who pass at least one advanced course and earns a merit mark within a specified two year period. Six (6) squadrons received this award and will share this trophy. Due to the fact that it is our 25th Anniversary the others agreed that we could show it off first.

USPS Educational Fund Certificate of Merit was presented to our squadron for the 18th Award in having 100% Participation. This Honor Roll / Award is in appreciation of the Extraordinary Contribution our squadron has made for the furtherance of education in the fields of navigation and small boat handling. Congratulations to us. This certificate will be kept in our archives.
